ConTracktor monitors the whereabouts, activity and productivity of labour within domestic house construction sites. Within each construction site each nominated tradesman/operatives (“Operative”) wears a T3588 High Visibility best as shown in Fig 5. This enables the Operative to be tracked within the working day.
Fig 1 shows the general schematic of the operation of ConTracktor. Whilst Operatives are moving around the site, but not within a designated building within the site, GPS data is used to track them.
This is typically accurate within +/- 2 to 5 metres and is likely to vary between locations. The T3588 vests transmits longitude and latitude transaction depending how rapidly the Operative is moving around site.
ConTracktor Overview
Positioning data is also collected with nominated houses (“Dwellings”). Here the data needs to be more granular determining not only which room or space where the Operative is working, but also where within the room. This is illustrated in Fig 2. Here, a number of strategically places Bluetooth beacons are placed, typically in the corners of rooms within the floor cassette for downstairs monitoring and on the roof trusses of upstairs rooms.
If the T3588 vests detect a Bluetooth beacon, then they turn off the GPS monitoring and use between 1 to 3 Bluetooth beacons to determine where they are located.
Tests have shown that within 3 beacons an accuracy of +/- 0.1 to 0.9 meter can be obtained. However, this is where the physical environment is not.
